About Lifelight

Lifelight is a youth-led organization and voluntary charity which aims at contributing to the achievements of the sustainable development goals through transforming and empowering youth and young people with new knowledge and life skills that will bring about positive change in the community

Lifelight involves a team up of youths that believe in transforming and empowering youth and young people with new knowledge and life skills that will bring achievement of sustainable development goals.

  • To educate and encourage the youth to step ahead in development by using the resources available

  • To empower, educate and encourage the community in the areas of environmental conservation, poverty, health, diseases and hunger

  • To spread the spirit of volunteerism among young people to serve in the community


Activities or functions

Activities or function, translating the association’s program into actions on the ground, are categorized into projects, campaigns and events. These projects and events are designed to strengthen relations between members and or membership groups of the association and other organizations, includes;

  • Trainings, seminars, workshops, concerts and other gatherings at local and international levels

  • Publishing literature, magazines, documentary and dissemination of information on national and international policies relevant to members and or program pertinent to youth, youth exchange

The mission of the association is to access every opportunity that young talented people can improve life serving service and participation


Kikolo Mwakasungula
Forest Expert

Kikolo Raphael Mwakasungula is a   programme Officer at African forestry (AF) organization. He holds a BSc in environmental science & management and is currently enrolled in the MSc environmental and natural resource economics program (final year) at the Sokoine University of Agriculture. A seasoned researcher in the forestry sector with his research associateship with the WOODCLUSTER Project for the past 2 years. He also has experience in advocacy and lobbying through several dialogues with Tanzanian government on land Rent adjustment in forestry and forest policy implementation strategies for private sector involvement. He  believes sustainability is the key to environmental protection but so is adequate education. 

Arnold Runje
Plastic Recycling Expert

Anord Runje is a social entrepreneur and the CEO of Taastic
Enterprises, a company that offers Sustainable Integrated Waste Management Solutions. Being
the recipient of Barack Obama’s Young African Leadership Initiative(YALI), Anord holds a
Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science and management, he is driven by his commitment
and passion in health and environment to find solutions for local problems in his community, as
he believes the two complement each other and they are the prerequisite in human capital
development and sustainability of any community

Judith Mandowa
Environmental Expert

Judith Mandowa, is an entrepreneur with  intensive fields engagement in different organizations such as Environmental Experts Group Limited (2018) where she worked as unregistered environmental expert and was also involved in Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Audit. She also had a stint  working at Ntangeki International Limited as Personal Assistant to the CEO. Without forgetting to mention her involvement in field training at Jane Goodall Institute (2015 and 2016) MIVARF (2015)and at RADO (2016). This Bsc gradaute from Sokoine University of Agriculture (2016) believes enviornmental education is the key to sustainabilty issues

Linda Kavishe
Youth Activist

Linda Kavishe is a Dar-es-salaam based Environmental Scientist, Youth Activist and SDGs champion. Having majored in Bsc. Environmental Sciences and Management, currently Miss Linda is pursuing her master in public health at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences
